I encourage you strongly to consider that this is an advanced method... it is very easy to mess up. Even I have not got it to function properly. Many packages can cause you to have to restore

    This is actually a tutorial
Before windows users start making threads...

send me an email to get the 2.2.1 customfw, for the semi-thethered jailbreak instructions below
    thehacker123@gmail.com

    Before restoring... do this:
    1) open a command prompt window in your irecovery folder (found here: http://www.[PIRACY.mf].com/?0mhy0ynkdny ... this one has all necessary files, except libusb)

2)run this (while in dfu mode)
    iRecovery -f iBSS211.dfu

unplug and re plug (should see white screen)

Copy and paste this whole block of text in:

    iRecovery -s
    arm7_stop
    mw 0x9000000 0xe59f3014
    mw 0x9000004 0xe3a02a02
    mw 0x9000008 0xe1c320b0
    mw 0x900000c 0xe3e02000
    mw 0x9000010 0xe2833c9d
    mw 0x9000014 0xe58326c0
    mw 0x9000018 0xeafffffe
    mw 0x900001c 0x2200f300
    arm7_go
    arm7_stop
    /sendfile iBSS221pwn.dfu
    go
    /exit

    3) Leave you ipod alone with the white screen
    Restore with itunes (using semi.ipsw)

4)after restore, put it into dfu mode.... run this:

    iRecovery -f iBSS211.dfu

unplug and replug (should see white screen)
Copy and paste this whole block of text in:

    iRecovery -s
    arm7_stop
    mw 0x9000000 0xe59f3014
    mw 0x9000004 0xe3a02a02
    mw 0x9000008 0xe1c320b0
    mw 0x900000c 0xe3e02000
    mw 0x9000010 0xe2833c9d
    mw 0x9000014 0xe58326c0
    mw 0x9000018 0xeafffffe
    mw 0x900001c 0x2200f300
    arm7_go
    arm7_stop
    /sendfile iBSS221pwn.dfu
    go
    /exit

then run this: (again, copy and paste the whole thing)

    iRecovery -f iBoot221semi.img3
    iRecovery -s
    go
    /exit

ipod will go to connect to itunes screen, this is normal, run this:

    irecovery -s
    setenv boot-path /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kernelcaches/kernelcache.s5l8720p
    fsboot
    /exit

Ipod will boot, you will see a connect to itunes screen(with battey logo at the top right), open itunes, select "set up as new ipod"

DO NOT INSTALL WINTERBOARD Your ipod will not boot.

DO NOT INSTALL MobileInstallation Patch (ipod wont boot, need to re-jailbreak)
there is no fix for this yet.

While its nice you have a pwned ispw, I would rather find the actual way to do this without the requirement to have that ispw.

Couldn't you use the semi-tethered jb with cyw00d's program? It seems to me once the firmware is modified, everything else stays the same.

No, I heard some of the steps are different.

And does anyone know how to get Winterboard working with this tutorial?
