Try this it worked for me

    iRecovery -s
    setenv boot-path /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kernelcaches/kernelcache.s5l8720p
    fsboot
    go

i think you need to upload the iBSS and iBoot files first. after the second white screen thing it should work cuz i got:
    got usb
    no iphone/ipod found

but then i used decovery and after the second white screen it began to work but booted up so...

Stuck on this screen too whatever I do. Even restoring to the tethered jailbreak. Anyone have an idea that what can I try?

Update: I've putted it in DFU mode and tried to restore the original firmware and when it boot back, it keep telling me that i'm in the restore mode and that I have to restore to use the ipod...

It's like stuck in a loop of restoring.... damn

    --BOOT INTO 'JAILBROKEN MODE'
(do this everytime you want to get back into jailbroken mode, OR use a quickbooter like the one listed below in bold text!)

    1) put your ipod into DFU mode
Note: I've found this eaiser if you are loaded into the normal mode and
you close itunes and the Ipod and Apple system processes

    2) type in the console:
    Code:

    iRecovery -f iBSS211.dfu

    (unplug replug, white screen!)

    3) now type into cmd:
    Code:

    iRecovery -s
    arm7_stop
    mw 0x9000000 0xe59f3014
    mw 0x9000004 0xe3a02a02
    mw 0x9000008 0xe1c320b0
    mw 0x900000c 0xe3e02000
    mw 0x9000010 0xe2833c9d
    mw 0x9000014 0xe58326c0
    mw 0x9000018 0xeafffffe
    mw 0x900001c 0x2200f300
    arm7_go
    arm7_stop
    /sendfile iBSS221pwn.dfu
    go
    /exit

    4) wait for it to reconnect and finaly!
    Code:

    iRecovery -f iBoot221semi.img3

    Code:

    iRecovery -s
    go
    /exit

    just wanted to know if someone could check this;
i've been getting trouble with rebooting into 'jailbroken mode; where it would just sit at the connect to itunes symbol. What I found was that typing this lets it boot:
    Code:

    iRecovery -s
    setenv boot-path /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kernelcaches/kernelcache.s5l8720p
    fsboot
    go
    /exit

your ipod will now boot into 'jailbroken mode'

One one has been able to restore to the 2.2.1 original firmware once he had the issue of the Itunes connect screen?

It's not the first time I put my ipod into dfu and restaure the orginal formware but everytime I does right now it get back to this screen. Hope somebody can help me with my screwed ipod.

Follow the redTool DFU counter; not one second more or less. It works. Happened to me.
