While this isn't something from the dev teams I feel I am forced to share it with you. Certain parts of my iPod, after upgrading to 3.0 (not saying source so don't ask) I noticed some settings were still jailbroken since I simply upgraded not restored. Things from supreme preferences are still there! Such as the custom text between the battery and signal strength. It still says "You got 0wned!" Cracked apps are still there as well, though they can't be opened since there older versions.

Cracked apps can't be opened because they are crack and the kernel is nuking them.

Everything else is from you restoring from a backup, or, those settings are left in place when upgrading.

some data like carrier text is stored in the backup file, this will be restored when you reinstall your ipod:

i stopped reading, and caring about this guys opinions, at cracked apps...

also, this has been happening since the first firmwares.

edit 2: Infact, its how the old jailbreaks worked (oktoprep on 1.1.2).

Ah I love people demonizing pirates when they aren't affected by their actions.

Start writing software and then have people crack it. Then we'll talk.

And yes, this has been happening since 1.1.2.

Demonizing? Not me. I just feel that some of the apps on the app store are utter **** considering the prices they want for them. If the app is brilliant and I enjoy it, the Sims 3, Fast and Furious, Stick Wars, Bloons etc then I will buy the application. Same with films, if its brilliant I'll get the DVD. I hate the idea of simply stealing work, if its good then I will honour the developer and buy it.

No, it didn't for me. It seems to be major system files.
