I would estimate that a sale price for the 8GB iPhone would be around $149 while the 16GB iPhone, $199.

    The reason being:
    - The 3G iPhone is available for $199 in 8GB, yet with purchasing this iPhone, a plan won't be needed.
    - Original price of $399 for the 8GB iPhone, which is a price reduction of more than half the original cost.

i think that untill the iphone 3g is truly jailbreakable and there is a work around for the contract part the iphones 1st gen willl be in a higher price range cause they are still usable with any carrier ... so ill be waiting for either a lower 1st gen iphone or for the first wave of "bricked" iphone 3g's ....

Yeah, I still think that the 1st generation iPhone will have a high face value, due to the fact that it can be unlocked, which leads to how you said they can be used with any carrier.

You could of course just type ebay.com in the url bar of your browser and then search iPhone. Pages and pages of prices! 8gb in the UK is going from between £190 and £250. 16gb between £250 (lowest I have seen) upto a stupid £400 (someone got bid fever on that auction)

Yeah, although these prices may change close to/after July 11th, when the 3G iPhone is released.
