Thanks man, if I can remember (dumb memory) I will definitely message you. This looks worth selling all the trash I have laying around! Linux and Win 8 dual boots seems promising...

    Wow...

I am now officially interested. After a few questions, I will go on my quest for the cash.

How new is this? Any rumors or anything on a newer version coming out? I want the best, for $600.
Whats the difference between 500 and 500p? Does the p come with the keyboard?
After your time with it, will you tell me if you recommend it?

Don't have it yet, but I can answer some questions.
It was released about a year ago. The 500 and 500p should both include keyboard (check item details from wherever you are buying), the difference is the 500p has 3G capability (Think iPad wifi only vs wifi/3G).
I looked around at different tablets before buying, and this was the best for it's price.
Anything faster is popped up to at least $1000 range, and most tabs for the similar price with Windows have either smaller, lower resolution screens and/or slower processors, OR are from weird chinese company you have never heard of.
If you jump on Amazon you can get a refurbished one for about $400 shipped.

Thanks! I can do $400. I am going to do some research on the 3G version.

    Awesome!
If you want to hold off till I get mine to answer any other questions, I'd love to boast about mine - er I mean, answer anything you have to ask! :)
The only "comparable" priced tablet I found (not including random brands i've never heard) was an HP slate, which has a smaller screen (almost 2 inches smaller) and costs another $100 refurbished.

You could also look at the Samsung Series 7 Slate... I don't know if it runs all those nice games but it's a neat looking Windows tablet.

The look alone makes me not want it.

I can't find anything about the 3G version on youtube :/ I don't need 3G I guess... WiFi would be fine. I pretty much want this to run photoshop and minecraft in school, and to show off, of course.

I need to sell all my laptops and Xbox's before I can buy this though. This is another unexpected $400 added to the $750 I need for my next iPhone :/

EDIT: Can't find one on Amazon for $400, can't find any refurbished at all.

Yeah, the 3G version didn't really take off AFAIK. It is a really nice tablet and has 2 USB ports.
The only "downside" i can find is that it only has 32gb built in mem, probably 10 gb will be used by windows, leaving you with maybe 20gb... But then, it has an SD card slot with a slot cover, I can stick a Class 10 high speed 32gb SD card in there for $28 and that gets me a good 52gb (20gb is more than my 16gb iPad had anyway lol) and with USB ports, I can always use an external HDD.

It actually has 4 USB ports according to their website, but I am on the same boat as you, other than me keeping my iPad which has 64GB. I too am planning on 32GB class 10 SD if I get this tablet. Plan on using every OS till one fits?

I want to try Windows 7 as it comes with default, then Android, then Ubuntu, then finally stick to Windows 8.

Also, as this wouldn't be a main computer for either of us, can always delete a lot of useless files and things in Win 8.

Found this site, apparently some come with light wear but its like $180 cheaper... http://www.cheetahdeals.com/Acer-Iconia-Tab-W500-BZ467-Refurbished-Tablet-p/l-le.rk602.047.htm What do you think I should do?

It has 2 USB ports on the device and the Keyboard dock has 2 USB ports... but when you use the dock it uses 1 USB port and blocks the other, so you can still only use 2 at a time :(
I'll probably try out Win 7 first of course, then Windows 8 and depending on how fast/responsive it is I will or won't try Ubuntu.
And yeah the only thing Ill have on it is like.. Fallout 3 and Borderlands (each is like 5 or 6gb I think so should be able to fit both) then some other stuff. Games and apps will go on main drive, everything else on the SD card :p
