so I'm thinking about selling my phone on ebay... I know people are going to ask for my ESN number. I don't know if I should give it to them.. I read somewhere that some people will take the ESN, activate on their account, then report it as lost/stolen. Then I'd have a useless phone... I also read that someone sold a phone(with a clear ESN) to someone, then a couple weeks later the buyer said it couldn't be activated. well they [the buyer] had a money back guarantee if it couldn't be activated. then, the original seller called to make sure the ESN was still clean, and it wasn't...
i don't want something like that happening to me. it there anyway to protect against that stuff happening? (I would use PayPal)

    (I have Verizon)

If they ask dont give it to them. Sell the phone on ebay and they can just buy it and activate it themself at verizon. Pretty sure its that simple.

agreed, if they don't want it that way, they don't have to bid.
