Hello, atm I have Verizon, and I know that will not work with the iPhone, and whatnot. My question is, if I bought an iPhone, would I need a plan and such from AT&T, or can I just use the iPhone features without the Phone (Camera, Vibrate etc)

    Many Thanks
    -Dustin

You have to make a contract with AT&T. The basic iPhone plan is 40 dollars a month. You get unlimited data and more.

    Actually it's $20 a month.
Also, steve jobs said that 56% of people didn't buy an iPhone because they were too expensive. What do you think most of that other 44% goes into? People not wanting AT&T.
The fact is that it is probably going to be available on Verizon.
Apple never said anything about it only being available on AT&T.

I hope to get the 3G iPhone no matter what carrier, but I'm on verizon now and it would be nice to stick with that.

According to the AT&T press release, the new iPhone 3G data plan will actually increase US$10/month to US$30/month. In addition you will need a voice plan starting at US$39.99/month so the total monthly fee to use an iPhone 3G will increase US$10/month or US$240 over the life of the new 2-year contract.

so technically over a 2 year period you are paying 40 bucks more for the new phone. so much for saving 200 now..

My dad has one with the unlimited plan.
It's $20 a month from AT&T. They are not going to raise it for 3G.
Also, it doesn't cost that much. You haven't considered everything else. It's not just straight off like that. Also you might want to consider the prices off other devices. For a normal phone, it's somewhere around $10 a month from companies like AT&T, and that's not including extras like apps and games you might download and mobile internet and texting.

If you think about it, the iPhone is only a few bucks more a month than you would normally pay.

You don't have to make any plan.
