If you have been pondering selling one of your organs to buy a shiny new iPad 2, well you wouldn't be the first. A Chinese student, a freshman in high school, has sold one of his kidneys. He was reported to have received 20,000 yuan, which is roughly 3,100 USD. The boy was quoted as having said, “I wanted to buy an iPad 2 but could not afford it. A broker contacted me on the Internet and said he could help me sell one kidney for 20,000 yuan.” In China, organs are harvested from executed prisoners so even though this is a shocking, to say the least, story-these things do happen in the world's most populated country. So, which of your organs or part of your body would you be willing to sell off for an apple product. I'm gonna say thank you for my well paying job and keep my organs. hmm, now I wonder if this post would be more appropriately located in the market place http://thenextweb.com/apple/2011/06/02/chinese-student-reportedly-sells-his-kidney-to-buy-an-ipad-2/
This doesn't actually surprise me that much. Over here there are so many Apple fanboys that just can't afford a genuine iPhone so they buy fakes. Or apparently sell their kidneys as well...
Dang, that's terrible someone would do that for an iPad. Whoever offered him that little to start is dishonest. Organs sell for way more in the US.
haha you're right! This gives a different meaning to selling your body. Hopefully when iPad 3 comes out he doesn't consider harvesting his other kidney~
