I brother forgot his passcode for his iPod Touch. So he wants to visit this weekend to see if I can fix it.

I am thinking that if I ssh in, (as long as wi-fi was on), or use Total Commander to delete that file it should forget the security settings. Am I looking in the right place? I think that is the file since once I backed it up then turned off the passcode when I replaced that backup using ssh my iPod started asking for my password again.

Apparently he has tried so often it just goes to the screen saying connect to iTunes. (He has no computer where he lives) I am hoping that goes away as soon as I connect it to my computer.

I hope I don't have to restore it would take to long.
