I know this has been posted many times, but when is the iPod Touch and or iPhone SDK software going to be released. I have heard early July but I am not sure.

The SDK is already out! You mean the 2.0 firmware I think... and yeah, like Gitykins said.

It's official Apple software, of course it's safe.

You can't really mess your iPod up using normal methods on jailbreaking etc.
Just ask on this forum to get help, I'm sure most times there will be ways so you don't have to get it replaced.

The SDK is the software by Apple for developers so they can easily build native apps for the iPhone and the iPod touch. The new firmware 2.0 will be released mostly at July 11th when the new iPhone 3G is coming, too. Firmwares will not mess up your iPod, restoring or upgrading to the new firmware will, as every firmware, "remove" your jailbreak. You're then an "official firmware" user.
