    This is why I'm not a big fan of Apple in general. They are too obsessed with having complete control over their products that the consumer suffers. If the jailbreak hadn't been released for the iPod Touch, I wouldn't have even considered getting it.

    Fortunately there's the unofficial SDK. It works quite well. Look at all those great apps from great devs available right now (excluding Apple's 20$ apps).
    It's not restricted to what Apple wants us to use. It's also possible to write kernel extensions (although not easy due to the lack of documentation).
    I'm not looking forward to the SDK, I'm looking forward to an always jailbroken iphone/ipot. Of course, I'll give the SDK a try but I know there's always something better.
