Scrratched... I'm OK with it, but...

was just trying to clean the screen of my touch which has become really sticky and non-slippery when i saw the scrratch!

I do not want to try to remove it. I just wanna know, can apple help? I bought it mid-october without any extra protection plan....
I get the rainbow effect when i see white below the scratch, but the area over the scratch is still sensitive.
What protection (case) should I get in order to avoid future scratches?
What can i do about the heavily scratched back of my ipod?
Another thing, how to get that like-new slippery screen back?

    here is a pic:

I use socks xD They work pretty well...

And I mean Universal Sox, the sort-of brand sox for the iPod. xD

I have the same thing, except I got a bit luckier in the fact that my scratch is about half as long and it is right above the home button (barely touches the screen). They are definately not scratch proof as some people say.

i recommend the griffin case. it has a screen protector that can easily be applied and removed, plus the case itself is just two pieces that snap together and protect the ENTIRE ipod, and has a cutout area for the screen and home button.
