I was hacking my ipod and the hack didn't follow through. Now my iTunes won't recognize it. How do I restore it to factory settings if it won't show up in iTunes?
Put your iPod into Recovery Mode. While connected to the computer: 1) Hold down both the sleep and home buttons until the iPod powers off, then starts back up again. 2) Once the Apple logo appears, keep holding the Home Button, but release the sleep button. 3) Continue holding this button for 20 - 30 seconds. 4) When the Apple logo will change to the iTunes + Cable logo, let go of the home button and reconnect to iTunes.
