I just got a slightly used Ipod Touch yesterday and have tried every single thing I have read about to correct error 1604 and nothing freaking works!

If anybody has some expert advice that you might think help, I would appreciate it.

From a very disgruntled Ipod user

I don't know what that error is, try restoring, or force restoring.

That's the problem I can't restore or force restore. It will get to the screen where i can chose the option to restore. It then extracts the software just fine but then prepares the ipod for the restore then pops up the error.

If by force restore you mean holding the home button while plugging it in then restoring yes I am... If I am wrong, I would be so greatful if you would correct me.

omg! When I was trying to restore mine, I kept getting this same error! I tried for a frikking WEEK to restore and I ended up going to the apple store a couple days ago. I think error 1604 actually means " Sorry, but you're SOL. Get your ass to the Apple store and have them restore it!" Sorry, but I was VERY pissed about the whole situation. >.<

CoDizzle, all it does is send me back to the restore screen and then does the same thing again. BryDee, I have a feeling I'm in the same boat you were in.
