A couple weeks ago my ipod screen all of a sudden went dark. I could still see the screen but just barely. I restored it a couple times and each time it would work and restore but the screen never worked right. Then just as soon as it started it came out of it. I thought it was over but now it did it again but this time it's not coming out of it. Any one else have this issue or know if apple would cover this?

could very well be a hardware problem. sounds like one of the wires is shorting out.

You should call Apple and see what they have to say about it.

Apple may nag about the dent, but in case they bring it up, tell them it's been there for a while.
Although I don't think that'll matter to them. Still worth trying.

Do you have auto brightness on?
Idk, it could be buggy, or broken on ur ipod.
If so turn auto brightness off, reboot. Set it to medium brightness.
See what happens, its worth a try.

This has happened to me before. It's like the backlight stopped working. It was only for a few seconds for me, so I'm guessing your backlight might have gone out?

Bring it into a genius, and don't mention the dent, if they replace it then it's all good.
