screen lock

    is it possible to lock just my screen. not log off but make it so that no one can use the comp. but it shows all of the things that are open.

    yeah theres a few programs that will do it. I remember having one called (duh) screenlock that put up a black screen that required a password to exit out of.

    If you just want to lock people out of your programs but keep them running (bit*******, etc.) try LockThis. It allows you to hold ctrl while minimizing a program to lock it, and to resotre it you have to enter a password. I like it a lot.

    On windows 7 you can just hit Winkey+L and it goes to a kinda login screen but doesn't log you off.

    thats lock - vista and xp have it too (not sure about win98/95, but it doesnt really matter since you're a vista user)

    ^Yeah thought so. I stuck with XP until 7, never used Vista because of it's FAIL level lol. But yeah WinKey+L should work for ya.

    ya it did. i was trying to convert a movie and i had work and i didnt want people on my laptop(doing things that they shouldnt see) and win+L did the trick.
