My iPod 2g was sitting on my table for a little while today, and when i came back i pressed the power switch. The slide to unlock screen came up, I unlocked it, but after that it stopped responding. The screen slowly faded until completely white, and then it turned black. It isn't responding to the restore function. I press and hold the menu and power buttons, but nothing happens at all. it also isn't responding to being plugged into my computer. As far as I can tell the whole thing is permanently power-off now. Any ideas, ladies and gentlemen?

    Huh...

Use the link in my video.

    Or follow my instructions...

    1. Hold the home button

    2. While holding it, plug the cable in

    3. Hold the home button for a while, iTunes should ask you to recover.

I'm going w/ calling Apple.... I would try to fix it myself, but I don't want to have this one conk out again the day after my warranty expires. I'll let everyone know how things went after its all repaired.

does DFU mode work on the new touches? if so you should try that, its probably the last thing to try if recovery mode isn't working
