I'm putting very light pressure on my iPod screen, and a distortion appears in the left side of the iPod.

It appears in the same area no matter where on the screen I tap.

I'm not sure if I should ask for a replacement or not. If this is a common problem, then I'll just live with it. If not, I suppose I'll have to get a new one.

Note: I'm not jamming my finger onto the screen. I'm just doing a simple tap. I need to touch it as lightly as a feather (just barely touch the screen) for the distortion to not appear.

If you still have your warranty, i suggest you send it in for a replacement... I have a 1st gen ipod and that has never happened to me in 3 years.

Well, I heard that the screen on the 4th gen is a bit thinner and closer to the internal parts, leading distortions to happen a little more easily.

No point in returning it for a new one if all the models have this problem.

That's the same exact problem I had, and on the left side at that as well...bring it back. I got my new iPod Touch and it doesn't do it anymore, so thats a faulty Touch.
