There is a large (inch long) scratch that i recently noticed on my iPods screen. I was wondering if apple would replace it, service it, etc..? Anyone have an experience. Of course i will restore my iPod so the warranty is still usable.

Then probably yes, if you have a warrenty.

But I'm not 100% sure. Bring it to the Apple store.

It depends on who you talk to and why you say you're replacing it. I work at Radioshack if someone comes in and says "Hey you sold me this brand new TV that just so happened to have this huge scratch on it!" I wouldn't believe them for a second though I would refer them to a source which could actually do something about it. If the salesperson there believes you them you're good to go, but I doubt that someone who has worked there for more than a week would think you weren't just trying to get rid of an iPod you accidentally fell on with your keys in your pocket. If you find something else wrong that couldn't be your fault beyond a reasonable doubt I doubt they'll do much. Though it is Apple and they make like 50% profit on them so you never know.

Edit: They Replace iPods Quite often under warranty but I'm not sure about something as trivial as this.

The issue will be whether it came like that, or it happened due to you. Apple will not replace it for free (I believe it is around $200) if it was because of you.

Depending on how deep it is, you might try some scratch remover or something.

A scratch on the screen, unless you can prove it came that way, would fall under abuse and not be covered under the warranty.

You might wanna try a google search for glass scratch remover.

I'd recommend Applesauce iPod polish, but I don't know how well it would work on the glass screen.
