Fake. There won't be a 4" iPhone this year according to Tim Cook's D10 meeting.

He could have just meant CURRENTLY. That means nothing about future plans. He was referring to fragmentation of devices, make sure you're not taking his quote out of context. And he was technically wrong when he said that iPhone/iPad have "one" resolution. Both the iPhone and iPad have two native resolutions. Obviously one is double the other, to make things simple for developers, but still inaccurate.

Anyhow, it is possible that there could be a larger screen iPhone with that same 640 by 960 resolution, with just a lower pixel density. Regardless I really wouldn't rule out a larger screen iPhone for the fall, because it DOES seem likely that we will get one then.

As Tim Cook said, they don't need to be popular (well...the iPhone sells like hot cakes even eighth it's screen size), and that Apple just has to make the best to their ability.

I will surely like a bigger screen, but if they are just gonna make it taller only and not wider, than I'd rather not have a bigger screen. The problem I had with most phone with 4" and above is the aspect ratio (especially the Sony Xperia S), things are to cramped in portrait mode and things are too wide in landscape mode, many games i play became elongated (especially Fruit Ninja)

Apple will most definitely not do that, and make the error of elongated games and small icons.

He might have misspoke... I mean if you kept the resolution the same as it is on the 4 and 4S, developers wouldn't have to do extra work, regardless of screen size.
