I've read for the battery indicator it is advised to drain the whole device until it shuts off then charge it up to maximum every once in a while. Doing this will calibrate the indicator.

i have tried that but the ipod will only charge to the 93% as the indicator says. therefore i cant do a full charge.

I have had that issue, if my iPhone goes dead and i try to charge with the wall charger it will beep repeatedly and say its fully charged, but in the computer is fine, maybe a glitch with some wall chargers?
