I know I have a thread thats sort of like this but I think this is different so I'm starting a new one. Ok, so my new issue:

I have found a video converter that I think will work for me(video ipod converter). But when it tells me to select the file I want to convert it asked for a save file, not a file thats in the DVD rom area. So my question is; How do I save a movie to my computer so that I can convert it?

...You mean rip it off a DVD?

    Use HandBrake.
That's a pretty good application, from what I've heard.

Are you trying to convert a DVD into a file playable on your iPod Touch? If so, use Handbrake.

I tried handbrake, it didn't work for me, or maybe I was just doing it wrong. It got converted but still wouldnt go into the movie area of itunes.

Did you choose an Apple friendly preset? Like iPod Touch?

Yep, I'm pretty sure I did. It ended up being saved as MP4 and it looked like the itunes like logo thing when it was saved but when I went to drag it into "Movies" it didnt happy.

Yes. I think so. It was saved as MP4. Should I try it again with M4V?

It's worth a try. For unknown reasons, this often works for me, whereas MP4 sometimes won't.
