I am not the best person to be answering this but ...
No you cant dl with your ipod , other then from the itunes store . You can however use your computer and dl files then upload them to your ipod as long as they are of the proper file type , mpeg4 .
As for dl You Tube in general I an not sure if you can via a download button but depending on the browser you use you can copy the video from your browser's temp / cash folder hidden some where in the browsers files , which I am sure could be found if you do a google search , posing the question then doing a search . I think explorer is one of the easier browsers to use if your goal is to save files from your temp folder . This would also work on Google video as-well .
I know that Google does offer downloading via a nice little button with some of the videos they have posted , but sadly not all of them .
Good luck and happy video hunting .

Alright, well here's one easy way.

    http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod-touch/

download and install. Works on Vista.

Go to the convert tab. Click "find videos". Click the "YouTube" link. This brings you to the youtube site. Find the video you want. When you have, click the download button (the picture of waht looks like a hard drive with a green arrow pointing down) This will download it and automatically convert it for you and add it to your iTunes library. Simple.

If you want to change conversion settings, click settings and change the profile.

Make sure the video is FINISHED loading before you hit the download button.
Thats one way. I'll type out the other way.

Okay. This way is kind of tricky, but this is how i always do it.

1.) Go find a video you want.

2.) Copy the embed code and paste it into your URL address bar. Get rid of EVERYTHING except for what is in parenthesis in front of "video=".

    Example:

    http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c118/andyandy6464/11BETTER.jpg

    http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c118/andyandy6464/22.jpg

3.)Press go or hit enter. This will open up a full screen version. Press play, then pause, and let the ENTIRE thing load before you do anything else.

Now, look at the URL now. See where it says "jp.swf" between a slash and a question mark? Replace everything between the slash and question mark with "get_video" (with no quotation marks).

    example:

    http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c118/andyandy6464/33.jpg

Now press go or hit enter. A save dialog will pop up. Name it and save it.

Yay. You did it. Now convert it thru Videora. IF Videora won't read it, then download this codec:

    www.playflv.com

It doesn't work now, but i hope it's back up tomorrow. If not, i'll edit it.

Anyways, i hope this works. This was a pain in the ASS to do. lol.
