This is a discussion thread for the "Saturdays with Stephen: On the 'iPad Mini'" story posted on the front page.
I think we're going to see a bigger iPhone, not a smaller iPad. Remember the rumors of the MacBook Pro redesign? Some claimed with a retina display, others with solid state memory. The rumors were wrong because they all assumed it was the MacBook Pro which would receive those changes, when in reality it was a new Macbook (MacBook Pro w/ Retina Display).
I think they will stop messing around with the Ipod Touch lineup anymore and not really advance or change it. Instead they are going to focus on an iPad mini type device that they hope will slowly replace any users of the iPod Touch. I really really want them to release a brand new iPod Touch that is extremely different than the previous ones and have them bump the storage to 128gb. However I realize that is just me dreaming and will not actually happen.
Well I believe theyll do a dual core ipod then quit and focus on ipad minis cause itll be a bit before games fully use it but it will happen and that way the latest ipod wont be left out of games from the app store
It makes much more sense to have an ipad mini cause when the new ipad was released the called it ipad, if they were to produce another ipad they would have called ipad 3 or 2hd but they didn't, knowing that they would change the upcoming ipad.
