    Hi there

I'm new to the ipod touch and I'm just about to buy the 2nd Gen 8GB

In dixons one of the sales staff said you can get Sat Nav to work on an ipod touch. He reckoned he has seen references to software etc on ebay

Does anyone know if this is tru or not?

Will the Touch serve as a Sat Nav option or not.

I am aware that you can download Google Maps but that isn't quite the same thing................

Any advice would be much appreciated

Hes half right and half wrong.

Yes there is Google Maps, on this you can type in a start and end destination. It will then tell you how to get there. But you have to do it manualy as it cant track your current location without WiFi.

No he did not see software on eBay.

You can still do this on the first generation iPod Touch, its just the maps app which comes pre-installed on the device.
