This is a discussion thread for the "Samsung Posts Record Profit of $7.3 Billion Thanks to Galaxy S III" story posted on the front page.
Since Samsung makes more than just phones, I don't think it being pocket change to them is something new.
I spent almost two hours yesterday in the Verizon store trying to decide between the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S3. I chose the S3 and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I love the big screen, widgets, the look of Android, and so many other things about it. I wasn't happy with iOS and Apple anymore. Another great feature is being able to monitor each app's data usage individually and limit which apps can use mobile data. This will come in very handy now since I don't have unlimited data anymore.
Considering Apple's iPhone profit is more than what Microsoft earns annually, this isn't that bad. Go Samsung!!
1 billion dollars is never pocket change to any company,no matter how rich they are, don't be stupid.
I too faced that decision two weeks ago, I own several Apple products, including the iPhone 4S. Anyway, I chose the S3 also. I love it. Several factors swayed me in that direction. My vision is degrading and the S3 is perfect for my low vision and is so customizable out of the box. The fact there was no JB for iOS6 also steered me away from the iPhone 5. I am dependant on so many gestures/tweaks that you can only implement with a jailbroken phone. Now, I still love my 4S and at some point I will get an iPhone 5 (or 6), because I do love Apple products, and now I love Samsung also.
Please, please don't go down this road. The s3 looks like a great phone, if I had to pick one. The iPhone 5 is too much of what the iPhone has always been, I'd get bored with it really quick.
Im referring to companies to customers (the commercials and other ads). Idgaf about the court cases. They act about as mature as the elite fanbase, which isnt very
