Samsung Galaxy S3 Stores Passwords in Plain Text

This is a discussion thread for the "Samsung Galaxy S3 Stores Passwords in Plain Text" story posted on the front page.

Wow. That's a pretty large security gap. But seriously, how long has this phone been out? And why was this just found?

This is why most businesses flock to BlackBerrys or iPhones.

As far as I know, it's a security risk for rooted users only.

I wonder if Apple will sue because of this.

It looks to be a problem with rooted S3s, and no one in their right mind with a rooted S3 runs touch wiz.

But, its still pretty sad that this was JUST found. Makes me happy that I only run AOSP based software on my S3.

Here's a couple things though; there isn't any way to access the passwords unless you are rooted, and it's a TouchWiz only thing.

Just another reason why I'm Pro-AOSP, Cyanogenmod forever.

They have a patent on poor security, I tell ya!
