This is a discussion thread for the "Samsung Galaxy S3 Stores Passwords in Plain Text" story posted on the front page.
Wow. That's a pretty large security gap. But seriously, how long has this phone been out? And why was this just found?
It looks to be a problem with rooted S3s, and no one in their right mind with a rooted S3 runs touch wiz. But, its still pretty sad that this was JUST found. Makes me happy that I only run AOSP based software on my S3.
Here's a couple things though; there isn't any way to access the passwords unless you are rooted, and it's a TouchWiz only thing. Just another reason why I'm Pro-AOSP, Cyanogenmod forever.
They have a patent on poor security, I tell ya! Just like rectangles with rounded corners, I tell ya!
