    Found this off macrumors -

When they put the devices side by side and tilted the camera to compare how thin they are, notice how the Touch's screen goes all blue while the iPhone's screen is still normal.

Is it the LCD's back light's fault or are we seeing another type of screen?

I think you meant it goes negative, Im pretty sure that the new one fixes this, I could be wrong, or that one is faulty.

i think it's a different type of screen.
i can't find the video but this dude ordered the screen of a iphone 4 and ipod touch and sat them side by side & you can see the difference.
the iphone 4 screen looks pure dark black, while the ipod 4 screen was brownish....ill look for that video

the iPod touch's screen doesn't use IPS technology in its Retina Display, while the iPhone 4 and iPad does. that causes the screen to turn all negative at that angle.

That's a big dissappointment to me, if this is true. I don't understand why they would call it a Retina display though, if it's not the same screen.

Do you know why it's called retina display? because with the p/dpi (pixels/dots per inch) rate it is hard to see one pixel with the naked eye. is this the case with the new iPod Touch? yes, it has the same screen resolution as the iPhone 4 on a same size area.

You're all basing all of this off of one video.

Wait until it actually ships before we make assumptions on the screen.

Yeah, I think this is probably right. We need to wait and see, because there are so many factors that could make it appear this way. When i get mine, I'll compare it to the 3G iPod and my iPad as well.

I think the camera he was using had a lot to do with it. Maybe you could try recording a video of it next to an iPad. The iPod touch 3G... doesn't that have the same screen as the 2G?
