Samba is a tool to network Windows/Linux (maybe UNIX/Mac OSX) computers together and share files.

I didn't know it existed for the iPoT. If I can find it, I'm installing it right when I see it.

It's actually in Installer.app, I don't know what source, but I have it up and running fine.

    It works well, actually.

I find it neither there nor in "Cydia Installer". Is there a secret?

Holy hell, way to bump an old thread. And your first post too, it's a shame.

Secret? Of course, it's called a 9 month gap.

Yeah, sorry, didn't notice its age at the time. I do now, of course, and it's reasonable that the method that worked then won't work now. Still, I'd really like to get sync or even music transferring working under Linux. Failing that, I figure I can at least run Samba on it and use it as a transfer drive, but I can't find Samba.
