Bought a touch to celebrate a new job, love it. But one thing I haven't worked out is how to open a link into a new window. Is it possible?

Sometimes a link will automatically open in new window, but how would I instruct a regular link to do this?

If you are jailbroken you can install Some bookmarks via Cydia and then use the "Open in new Tab" Bookmark to do it.

Yep, 2g here, hence the post in the 2g sub-forum

Sounds like it's not supported. Pity. A very useful facility.

I've been wanting this functionality since the day I got my device; It sucks that it's not supported.

Apple should actually have a special function in Safari just like the "Save Image" function, where if you holded a link for 5 secs you should get a pop-up saying:
    Open link In New Tab
    Open link

    Yeah it possible!

Theres this thing called Tabulate, you save a link in you bookmarks (its a javascript thing) and when you want to open a link in a new window you just open up you bookmarks and click on the bookmark and then it lets you open links on that page in new windows
