Safari Mobile

    Why does Safari always open my webpages in a mobile version such as ebay and google etc. Can i stop this as it is annoying.

    theres no way to do this on the 2g rite now.. wait till a jailbreak

    theres something for the 1g though, but that wont help u

    Even with a jailbreak, I'm not so sure that there is any way to change your user agent. Usually, when a web page is requested, the browser transmits its user agent. When the site sees that the iPod is mobilesafari, it directs to the mobile web page.

    If we had a way, and there very well could be, to change it to the desktop User Agent for safari, there wouldn't be any problems.

    Most mobile sites I have come across have a link right on the site to the non mobile or "classic" page.
    Both Ebay and Google have this.

    I wish Apple would give us an option in the Preferences.app; Google Mobile is horrible.

    well as said, in google there is an option to get the the 'classic' view.

    Yes, but when you use the Google bar, it automatically takes you to Mobile.
