As I'm sure most people here have noticed, Safari has the tendency of whiting out all other tabs if you happen to have too many tabs open, or if you have a lot of images or a large image in one tab. This in itself is not a problem, but when that happens, all forward/back data for that tab is lost as well. I find this both inexplicable and unacceptable. The forward/back data can be stored in simple text, and all that data for multiple tabs would take up a fraction of the filesize that an average image from a website would take up. There is simply no reason for Apple to program it this way, unless they're sadists. I heard that 1.1.4 fixed the whiting out issue, but after having upgraded to 1.1.4, I've noticed no changes - tabs still white out if I open too many tabs or if I open a particularly large image in one tab, and along with the loss in the page cache is the loss in forward/back data. I'm wondering, does anyone know of any fix or work-around for this? I'm getting sick of waiting for Apple to put in features that should've been there in the first place. I sincerely hope that Opera is still planning on making an iPhone version of their browser, because mobileSafari is truly pathetic.
