Yeah, Nike + iPod would be your best bet.

I recommend buying a case for it as well as a screen protector such as invisible shield so incase it pops out of your pocket, it will be just fine.

    Good luck with it,

I am using RunKeeper Free (there is a paid version but not too sure what the advantage is to the paid version other than no ads).

I also have another app called Intervals - this sounds an alarm at intervals so I can change pace etc.

Since I am jailbrokken I have an app that allows me to run others in the background so can have both running simulateously.

I have had a look for the Nike App on itunes but haven't found it

I guess that this means that it won't work on the iPhone/Touch?

Nike + iPod is 2G touch only. And just looking at the OP's details shows a 1G.(though it may be wrong)

Nike + iPod comes installed by default on the iPod touch 2G. For the iPhone, there are apps that use the GPS to track distance and speed, which would be really useful if you had an iPhone. There is running trainer on the app store, free or paid versions. Both have 3 stars, so who knows how good they are, but at least there's a free version.
