This is a discussion thread for the "Rumor: Retina iPad Mini to Launch Next Year" story posted on the front page.
It is expected. Next November there will be a new iPad Mini with a retina display. Apple has yet to release a brand new device with a retina display, they always hold out until future generation(s).
Wait is this actually a rumour from any source or just an assumption? We all know this will happen. I wonder if those diehard apple fans will still be spouting about how the ipad minis display is just fine despite a lower res display being completely unsavoury should one of apples competitors release a product with one. I'd almost be willing to guarantee that they'll still hold the device back from perfection in order to have more generations of upgradability.
Makes sense except for the fact that the Mini would have a higher PPI than the regular iPad. Seems a bit weird marketing wise.
I don't see how this is possible without making it heavier and thicker. Also what JKJones said, having the same resolution as the iPad 4 is just weird and I would add, outrageous. If this is the case I really won't care for it at all. I never cared for the iPad 3 because it's just more bulky and was the same speed because of the screen.
