This is a discussion thread for the "Rumor: Apple to Release 13" MacBook Pro with Retina Display in October" story posted on the front page.
If it was in the $1700 range, it would be better to add $500 (minus taxes), and get the 15". I think Apple will have to keep it below $1500 or around $1500 to keep it "college-friendly" because $1700 would be way too expensive. Well...unless there is something significant.
Does Apple have an exclusive on these new displays? If not, when can we expect to see the competition use them?
Its gonna need better graphics.... with that many pixels, the 4000 is going to suffer, we need to see macbook 15" specs in this thing.
ASUS already has some heavy density notebooks out. They have a 13 inch laptop with a full 1080p display. The ASUS Zenbook Prime. It's also got an Ivy Bridge CPU. I'll be honest; I hate ultrabooks, no one designs em right and there's always some flaw, but ASUS... They got it right. I love ASUS.
