Look at apple trying to cover up their hardware issue. Why don't they give us some bug fixes.

How is a software update supposed to fix a hardware problem?

If it was a software issue, Jobs would have patched it and moved on without a statement.

damn, it always smells fishy when apple prepare this kind of update , maybe it is going to be just a "tweak" to cover his hardware problem, plus the release of the bumpers just make my point more stronger but who knows

They don't need an update to fix this, you just have to hold the phone differently

I agree, it doesn't make any sense. Although, HTC is fixing a touch screen issue with a software update that everyone thought was a hardware issue, so it could have some validity.

If you would read a little, which I don't expect from the average iPTFer, you'd find out it's a baseband issue. The issue occurs when switching frequencies, because the lag is allegedly not calibrated correctly, it results in the device reporting "no service" rather than switching to the frequency with the best signal to noise ratio. What would happen when your finger covers the antenna..Hm..I think it'd switch frequencies to ensure you get the best signal when you're going something, specifically calling. Which makes a lot of sense since there's so much people complaining about AT&T, Apple's trying to make the best out of it and have less reception issues. They made a mistake.

Do you know if there are any plans to fix the Wifi problem (remaining connecting even in sleep mode) in the next software update?
