Found this very interesting article on mobilemag.com
    heres the link: http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/340/C15184/

"So, how can you get your hands on a 3G iPhone for as little as $199. Well, if you sign your life away with a two-year service agreement, (they say) you will receive a $200 subsidy/discount in much the same way that you would on many other phones from AT&T. The $399 8GB 3G iPhone (that’s a lot of numbers) gets a net price of $199."

Just a rumor, but a very juicy (and plausible) one.

    What do you think?

it's an Apple product, do you honestly think they'll sell it for under 500$?

AT&T plans to pay for part of the device as long as you stay with AT&T.

    Subsidy. Look it up

still, I honestly doubt it will be 200 bucks, it's Apple, even with AT&T paying for a fraction of the device, it'll still be expensive, not to mention the iPhone's infamous contract price tag

This is the main reason why I may get an iPhone

AT&T is the main provider in my area so it works out for me.

AT&T will probably sell it for this price through rebates or something. Its like with Sony Ericsson, if you buy it at their store, it would cost like $400 but if you get a mail-in rebate from AT&T you will get a $100-$200 discount.

meh i dont really like this because more people are going to get it=less of a 'cool' product. but as long as i can extend my current contract with att to get the iphone i am willing to pay any price.
