I don't think this is like of Apple. So if Apple axes the Pro, there will be only the Air left? Some people like me like the additional weight for the superdrive, SD card slot, and more customization.

It'd be one more reason for people to go with a Windows laptop if this does happen; Especially, given the significant difference between the Air's harddrive space and most current PC/Mac harddrives.

You could get a portable USB or Thunderbolt hard drive.

Less convient than internal drives and trust me I've done this.

I just love when fanboys automatic response to Apple gimping their hardware is to use USB.

I can almost guarantee you that they won't. It's definitely not in their best interests, let alone anyone's and they have no real reason to do it.

    Nah, I don't think they'll do this.
They will want to keep the "normal" portable computer, for average consumers, which is the Air.
And then they'll keep the Pro for people that need a powerful computer with more capabilities.
They'd be killing off a whole market audience by eliminating the Pro line... A big one.

Almost as stupid as the idea that they are ending the Mac Pro
