I finally got over my scared self, and rooted my Droid X running Gingerbread a few minutes ago! Wanting to know how to:

    • take screenshots
    • change my notification bar
    • run a VNC server (on the phone)

And if there is any other cool stuff that I can do to it, please let me know here. Thanks!

Take screenshots with a market app like PicMe I think.

Change Notification Bar via root access.

    Search VNC Server on Market.

    I hope I helped.

Wait, I can take screen shots without the need for any apps.

I thought all Androids could do this though.

AOSP/stock 2.3.5 and up have the native screenshot ability.
A custom ROM is always nice, but with the DX, you have a really limited selection. Very few people want to develop for the Motorola phones anymore.
Screen off and lock is a cool app if you want some nice looking screen off animations.
The ICS music player is a massive improvement of all the previous Android music players [ I think so anyways] the MIUI player is nice as well.

Haha I was wondering what the commotion was on Twitter. I don't know much about what you can do with it though, sorry.
