Root Partition resizer

    OK, i want to upgrade to 2.0.1 and after that, of cource, jailbreak.
    I have WinPWN 2.0.0.4.
    But what is the partition rezizer?
    how many MB should i select.

    As the name suggests it allows you to make the OS partition larger. The standard 500 MB is enough for me though. After all, it was only 300 MB on 1.1.x.

    whats the point of it?? (what does the os partion do?)

    Well, the OS partion is what all the system memory goes into. whatever you set the OS memory to should be how big the other memory should be. The OS partion holds all your themes, all your App Store Apps as well. you can move all that using bosstool, to get more space. I set mine to 1GB just to be safe

    No it doesn't. iTunes installs AppStore apps in the Media partition. The apps you install via Cydia and the ones included with the OS are stored on the OS partition though.

    Grr. I took a screenshot and its in .tiff file...

    anyway, i deleted some Appstore apps, and my other memory dropped around 30mb.... yeah.. unless its not the other memory...where are they stored then?

    Just because it's listed as "other" in iTunes doesn't mean it's stored on the OS partition, just that it's not music or video. Pretty straight forward. It's also a well known fact that they are stored on the Media partition.

    Cydia/preinstalled apps are stored in /Applications/

    AppStore apps are stored in /var/mobile/Applications/

    Cydia moves your apps to the media partition, so i would put the OS partition on the lowest amount possible.

    in the official bigboss tut the partition is set at 550 mb.
