This morning I stumbled on to a video on my website that one of my authors wrote. It was about this app called Rockapp which is supposed to be better then Cydia. So far I haven't really messed around with it to much but it seems really good. It has a really nice interface. Here is a post on Modmyi all about it : http://modmyi.com/forums/iphone-news/683849-rockapp-launches-2-0-a.html.
Then here is the post with the video: http://www.iphonexpert.com/rock-your-phone-the-best-cydiaicyinstaller-alternative/

It doesn't look bad and the restore from backup RockID with give saurik a run for his money, but I don't think most people are really going to move from Cydia any time soon.

+1 for not fixing what's not broken. This will most likely be like Icy. People are all "wowz new paxage manger!!", it gains popularity, and then is seen to have bugs/incompatibilities. Cydia is basically immovable from where it stands.

Rockapp sucks ass. It has one repo, with few applications and you can't add sources (last I used it). It installs this crappy mobilesubstrait replacment called Rockextentions (I think thats what its called?) and it slowed my phone down. The only good thing Rockapp has going for it is a pretty UI and so did installer and we all know how bad that sucked. Rockapp = Installer, but, with only one source. Its about on par with anything produced by RipDev.

Everything that rockapp supplies you can get from cydia already.

Go with Cydia. Definitely do not go with Rock Your Phone.

Looks bad. I trust Saurik and will continue to use Cydia until it's no longer useful, which won't happen for a while.

Rocks... Grind rocks into powder.. Add different minerals with the rock powder... Put it into a rectangular form... Bake it in a kiln/oven... What do you get?

RockApp is horrendous. It's better than Kryptes, but Kryptes doesn't install anything, has no screenshots, is almost entirely web-based, and is full of mostly borderline porn themes and crappy ringtones.
