Ok so for people with PSP's that were hacked you know that you were able to take a psp game (iso) and it would be 500mb or so but you were able to rip the music/videos/etc out of it to make the game down to 300mb or so.

is there a way to do this to apps? I have the brothers in arms app and a few other big games that take up alot of room but i NEVER use game sounds and skip cutscenes. I wanna rip these out. is it possible without breaking the app?

You can try getting rid of the cutscenes and/or sound. Post back if it works.

You would have to insert "dummy files;" files that are blank but have the same name and permissions. The app will load them, but you won't see them; plus the file size would be reduced to 0KB.

Is there an editor that can do that? Sorta like UMDGen?

If you are on a jailbroken device you can use SSH to remove them from the application's folder. No hex editing is required.

Ah ok. I thought he meant non-jailbroken at first. Then I saw that he had a jailbroken iPhone and edited my post.

Of course, non-jailbroken devices would be excluded from this idea.

They are easy to make; just take a text file, give it the name and extension of the file you want to replace, and make sure that the permissions are identical. Ta-da! You have a dummy file.
