Idk whether it's been done before, but I have successfully installed icy! I thought that it doesn't work on newer firmware. I have successfully installed jailbreak apps with it, with no issues at all. Has anybody else got it working? Btw, I'm talking bout ripdevs version, not "icy installer"

There's no reason it wouldn't work, its just been discontinued and open sourced. Its up to other people if they wish to port it to newer firmwares however.

Hey, just because it was discontinued and isnt the best out there, doesn't mean that it's a pile of sh*t or pointless! It was good for it's purpose, managing and installing packages in a user friendly GUI. Take installer, everyone said it was the best and nearly everbody had it on their jailbroken iPod or iPhone. It was also good for ta purpose, and now have a look at what people are saying. Although cydia and rock are way better than cydia or rock, insaller was also very food in it's time.

You probably didn't know that Ste created installer and then sold it to RIPDev around 3.0 (I Believe), once RIPDev bought it, it went strait down hill. Any thing rip dev makes/touches is a pile don't use it.

It may screw up your iPod. There have been plenty of cases where people have had issues with Rock and Icy. Why take the risk? Just use Cydia like everyone.
