Is there any way to get ringtones to be more than 30 seconds long?
Epic short thread is short.
Thats odd because my ringtone on my 8gb 3g iphone is the full version of talktalks, living on another world. Which apparently. going by his reply, dualcorex seems to be. Please Register or Log in to view images
You need to ssh into your iphone.
Convert any track you want as a ton to .m4a then rename the extension to .m4r
Now, navigate to root/library/ringtones on your iphone through your preferred ssh client.
Pick a tone you want to replace.
Now rename your previously converted track to the tone you want to replace, e.g Duck.m4r
Now replace said file on iphone.
Navigate to sound settings on iphone and choose duck.
This method can also be used for custom sms tones which are located in System/Library/Audio/UIsounds

if you have a mac
Take whatever song you want
Click 'send to ringtones'
...was gonna say, the majority of mine are in excess of 42 seconds.
well it isnt going to ring for more than 30 seconds. and you also cannot sync ringtones through itunes that are over 30 seconds
Thats so lame...
u could use iToner..its really good and u can pass full songs... allthough u have 2 "pay"...
Oh, I thought the question was buying ringtones longer than 30 seconds on the iTunes Store... My mistake, you can SSH songs that are longer, but as dualcorex said, it won't ring for longer than 30 seconds before looping anyway.
There might be some .plist or file you can edit to change how long ringtones play for.
