If I remember correctly, a couple years back, before the iPhone, they had BBM on other platforms, allowing them to, well, BBM Nokia's and such. Don't remember much about it anymore.

I don't think it will because, at the end of the day, some people will still prefer Blackberries over iPhones/Android-based phones. I personally doubt that people get Blackberry phonrd for BBM, so people who think that they will be non-existent because of BBM being on other OSes is kind of, shall I say, stupid? I mean, maybe there are people who get a Blackberry for BBM, but I seriously doubt it.

While the OS is inferior to other available OSes, I still prefer Blackberry phones over iPhones and Android-based phones. Mainly because 1) I don't want a touch screen phone and 2) I want a physical keyboard.

I dont know anyone who uses BBM. Or even instant messangers anymore. Its all about text messages and writing on facebook walls.

Nothing like bbm? what about whatsapp? works on bb's, iphone, android and symbian. It's instant messaging between phones, only costs 59p on ios and is free everywhere else, no monthly cost, and support for video, picture, im, audio, sending location. is a much better solution.

bb is still more popular when it comes to business purposes and such.
but i think rim is smart to implement this. apps like kik and such are emerging and rather than shying away, rim's almost welcoming it.

i dont have bb but i'd love bbm on my iphone 4 because a lot of ppl around me use bb. might be because rim hq is like located 2 minutes from my campus lol

Um, I have a Blackberry 9780 and I didn't buy it because of BBM. Honestly, BBM is nothing special. It's basically the same as a text message or a facebook message or a tweet. If you disagree, please explain why BBM is better.

I have a Blackberry and don't care much for BBM, for one reason, I don't know many people who use it. Other than than, BBM > txt, tweet, facebook message.

BBM tells you when the other is typing, if they read the message or not, and so on, and so forth.
