    Been a while.

Other things have consumed my time for the last year or so. Dug out the old Touch and wondering if there's anything new recently that would make it worth while to jump back into the mischief again?

I'm currently jailbroken on 2.1 but looks like not much works anymore. I can still do all the basics but that's about it.

Should I fork over the dough for 3.x?? Blackrain? Any gotta-have apps??

    TIA!

Well.. from my experience 3.0 is kinda worth it, only if you are going to be using your iPod. Apps are meh.

I would say 3.0 is worth it, spotlight is a pretty nice addition. For apps, most of them don't need 3.0 as of yet.

3.0 for the iPod Touch 1G is practically a gutted version of 3.0. My 1G lags horribly on 3.1.2, doesn't have peer to peer bluetooth, and also many other limitations 3.0 generally allows but the 1G's hardware cannot handle. I recommend staying on 2.1 to be honest.

I had 3.1.2 on my 1st gen, its worth the upgrade. Plus many app store/cydia applications require 3.0+ these days.

    Thanks gang!

Will probably do it if for no other reason than to try it.

Sounds like 1G is pretty ancient these days. Wonder if I should try & sell my 1G & pick up a 3G???
