Name: LifeGame Category: Games Released: 28 June 2008 Seller: Cristophe Favergeon Version: 1.0 Size: 0.1 MB Price: FREE Rated: 4+ ----Basic Rules---- 1. Rules. To understand this game, you must understand its rules. The universe of the Game of Life is an infinite two-dimensional orthogonal grid of square cells, each of which is in one of two possible states, live or dead. Every cell interacts with its eight neighbours, which are the cells that are directly horizontally, vertically, or diagonally adjacent. At each step in time, the following transitions occur: Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if by loneliness. Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by overcrowding. Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives, unchanged, to the next generation. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours comes to life. The initial pattern constitutes the 'seed' of the system. The first generation is created by applying the above rules simultaneously to every cell in the seed — births and deaths happen simultaneously, and the discrete moment at which this happens is sometimes called a tick. (In other words, each generation is a pure function of the one before.) The rules continue to be applied repeatedly to create further generations. This app respects the basic principle shown above, with one subtle difference: the grid of cells is not infinite, but it rather continues on the other side of the screen (see below). The squares could have been bigger, making the icon even nicer. 8/10, importance=1 Please Register or Log in to view images 2. Main screen: Basic, easy to use, but the Wikipedia link looks like an export button. [see below]. The movement speed is just fine. 9/10, importance=4 Please Register or Log in to view images --Random---Wikipedia link------Start---------------Edit-- 3. Edit screen: Basic, a little hard to use, fortunately there is zoom (select the zoom mode, then pinch). Too bad it doesn't have a save button. 7/10, importance=3 Please Register or Log in to view images --Clear-----Load----------Draw-----Zoom-------Save&Main 4. Load screen: just too easy to use. 10/10, importance=1 Please Register or Log in to view images 5. Info screen: Exactly what you would expect. A little basic, but if you learn a bit about this game and the shapes, you will agree that the info given is enough. 10/10, importance=1 Please Register or Log in to view images ----Overall: 8.5/10---- I recommend this game to everyone. It's free, and it's a real time killer. Experiment with different shapes. It's excellent providing it's free.
