[REVIEW] iVideoCamera Well, seems like the end for many people finnaly ended,we got first un-jailbroked video recorder out for iphone 2g/3g! Is it good? Is it worth the price? Read on. Many people have been waiting for app like this, with very little hope though, couse we all know Apple just dident want to approve video recording app for us to use. How did this get approved, and why-i dont know and will not talk about it. So when you first open the application you got very basic and straught-to-the-point view: Please Register or Log in to view images So its just a finder window with simple record button, nothing spectacular but does the job. No zoom,no effects. When you are done with record,or 1 minutes expires (Thats the maximum record time for this app),just hit the stop button or it will stop itself after 1 minute. You get this simple screen: Please Register or Log in to view images And if you choose to save it,saving screen looks like this: Please Register or Log in to view images After saving, well,it gets better: Please Register or Log in to view images As you can see,you have some cool feautures there. You can share, watch or export to camera roll,or just shoot new video again. Taping the share button will bring you to this page: Please Register or Log in to view images As you can see you can share your video to youtube, facebook and vimeo, i have tried facebook and youtube and it works perfectly! Offcourse, you can watch it from here with regular iphone media player. You also have options to send clip in mail message,or again to export it to camera roll. Please Register or Log in to view images Uploading is fast and simple, takes less then 1min for 40sec video, and also nice addon:when it finishes uploading to say, youtube,it automaticly copies view link in your clipboard! NOW;THIS IS WHERE IT GETS EXCTING! So if you dont feel like sharing, and decide to save video to your library, you will get simple message: Please Register or Log in to view images After that, your video get showed in your camera roll! Please Register or Log in to view images Yes,it is true. A videos in your 3g camera roll. Please Register or Log in to view images Thing is,its not some kind "workaround" or something, this enables video playback and menaging just like on a 3GS device. Real native 3gs camera roll! Not only that,it also allowes you to trim vides also just like on 3GS: Please Register or Log in to view images So these were to good sides of it. So whats bad? If we put 1-minute limit aside for a second, and even that is enough for some users to skip this,we have really bad shooting quality of videos. - The iPhone can only capture about 3 frames per second - Videos are limited to about 1 minute in length - Resolution is low: 160x213 While 3 frames per second is VERY bad,its not un-watchable. Its not like you are watching slideshow of pictures like some other apps tryed to "video record",but its not even near to record quality of 3GS or any better cellphone. In my opinion, its good for quick shots, when youre not so worried about picture quality and colors. Audio quality is good enough! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- So,lets conclude: Features Something new and really cool, but bad video quality - 4.0 GUI Clean, easy to understand,no ads - 4.5 Audio Decent enough no problems at all - 4.5 Reuse Value Well if you can live with bad video quality-you gonna use it,if not youre never gonna open it again - 3.0 Value For Money For really cool new thing price of 0.99dollars is really low,and considering its only appstore app of this kind i rate it high - 4.5 So my final grade is: 4,0 Great I have uploaded YouTube video directly from device so you can see video quality (its a bit dark but i did it on purpose to see how would graphics look in this conditions) Code: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hz3wG6nSGr4 Here is also a appstore link: iVideoRecord,0.99 dollars Code: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=332166209&mt=8 Hope you liked this little review,cheers,loop4444!
