[REVIEW] Of gpSPhone 2.5.0 Well, it has finally arrived after such a long wait. gpSPhone 2.5 is here! In this review I will be covering, look, feel, graphics, sound, gameplay/performance, and the overall rating. The game used in this review was The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past. You can also choose to have he game in landscape or to not have it in landscape. Before I begin I would like to thank "thechungster" for providing me with the gba_bins file and he was the one who made this review possible. Thanks! Let's begin. Look Well, it looks nice. Pretty much the same look as the gpSPhone for firmware 1.1.x. There are 5 skins you can select to use and you can also choose to make the screen smaller or larger. The smaller is better for you if you enjoy seeing the screen and not having your fingers block the view. The skins are nothing extraordinary but it is nice you have a choice of what it looks like. Screenshots below. The other choice is in the other picturesPlease Register or Log in to view images Please Register or Log in to view imagesPlease Register or Log in to view imagesPlease Register or Log in to view imagesPlease Register or Log in to view images Feel IT feels nice because you are using it on your ipod touch. Now that there is choice you can customize it to your liking and what not. You can choose the comfort level by changing the layout to your needs. Graphics Please Register or Log in to view images It looks just as good as the gameboy. I personally cannot tell the difference. The graphics will not stun you because it is gameboy gameplay and graphics. This is just a fun game and the games you can choose are fantastic. Sound This is one thing that really, really, annoyed me. When listening to the gameplay you can hear a faint crackle in the background. This is a big step up from the gpSPhone for 1.1.x because this one has almost continuous gameplay sound and it no longer has the annoying stops that lasted for several seconds. The sound altogether is smooth. It has some gaps during playback but nothing major. Gameplay/Performance This is one thing that impressed me. The gameplay is a lot better. It handles nicely now and only has an occasional lag. Please Register or Log in to view images During cutscenes you can actually watch them and not see the lag. Another thing that is nice is that it saves now without changing any permissions so it is good for the electronically impaired. When I started playing with Zelda (gameplayPlease Register or Log in to view images) I noticed that when I moved the main character it was almost perfect like the gameboy. Only small amounts of lagPlease Register or Log in to view images Overall I have to give this a 9/10. The graphics are nice, the gameplay is nice, the performance is a huge step up from 1.1.x and the sound is a lot better as well. If the sound was fixed then this would be a slam dunk. Oh, yeah, it is also free with is a HUGE upside. Please Register or Log in to view images Please leave me feedback on this review. Thanks and I hope you enjoyed.
