I personally do not have a ipod with the 2.0 firmware installed...my brother has it. I am still on a jailbroken 1.1.4 (signature)...well, anyways, here is my review of de Blob.

At the bottom is a link to watch the video gameplay and there is also gameplay pictures. The download costs $9.99 USD.

Well, lets get to the review...

Here is THQ's (creator) take on the game...

"The evil I.N.K.T. Corporation has declared “Color is a Crime!” and leeched Chroma City of all its beauty and interest. With no means to fight back, the citizens of Chroma City have been forced into a hypnotic state. Only the unlikely hero de Blob can defeat the hordes of tank battalions, speedy I.N.K.T. racers and elite Inky soldiers that have invaded his home. Flip, bounce and smash your way to launch a color revolution and save your city!"

    And here is my take...

This is a bit cliche but i do not really mind. A game is a game and that is all that matters. The world in the Wii version is 3-D while the one on the ipod touch is in semi 3-D world with top-down view with 3D buildings, but otherwise 2D graphics. The player controls de Blob as he moves about the depressing, grey landscape collecting colors and liberating the repressed. de Blob is presented with certain goals to complete and is required to color certain buildings with specific colors that must sometimes be obtained through mixing (eg. red + yellow = orange).

While not as graphically advanced as the forthcoming Wii version, de Blob for iPhone does feature unique, engaging gameplay. A choice of touchscreen or accelerometer-based controls are offered within the game. The video below demonstrates the touch control which can obscure the gameplay at times. Meanwhile, the accelerometer control is flexible allowing you to calibrate the settings (screenshot) including choosing the neutral position and sensitivity.

I would have to give this game a 9/10 because it is simple. yet fun, addicting and it is just plain easy to play. If you want a good game to start off with on the ipod touch then i would suggest this one!

Here is a picture(s) of the gameplay...

I freakin' love this, there's one on the app store for £3.99, and one for £5.99, I got the £3.99 one, well worth it.
    It's my 2nd favourite app

I have the freeware Windows version of this (link). It's quite well done and a lot of fun. The iPhone looks like it's been scaled down a fair bit. The perspective is overhead, the "painting" isn't quite as creatively representative. As long the gameplay remains largely intact though it looks like it'll be just as much fun.
